INTRODUCTION

Reflexology is a natural, holistic therapy, which is carried out on the feet or hands. It is used to promote a feeling of well being and is suitable for people of all ages.

Reflexology is based on the idea that the feet are mini maps of the body and that there are points or reflexes on the feet and hands, which relate to the vital organs, glands or structures of the body. For example, the big toe represents the head and at the base of the big toe is the area or reflex for the neck.

When these reflexes or areas are worked on during treatment, any blockages or congestion (highlighted by gritty or lumpy areas or a feeling of tenderness by the client) can be eradicated; this in turn enables energy or 'chi' to flow freely through the body which allows the body to function at its optimum level. Without reflexology treatment our bodies are prone to viruses, colds, headaches, stress and more.
